Bathtime

Up until just recently, Alex did not enjoy bathtime. He was a little too cautious with the water surrounding his body. He seemed annoyed when I washed his hair. It finally dawned on me that maybe he was ready to sit up in his bathtub...man did this make all the difference. He tries to grab a hold of anything within reach, and he learned that splashing water all over the place, including my face, is quite entertaining.

Here are a couple of pictures of Alex having fun in the bath at eight months old...

Good Morning

My weekday mornings are no piece of cake. Unfortunately, my kids are early birds ready to start their day at around 6:30 in the morning. They are with me every step of the way as I attempt to look presentable for work...not easy. As soon as I am done getting ready (Heaven forbid I take more than 15 minutes), Emma has her list ready, "Take my pullup off and put my "chonees" on, brush my teeth, and please get me my cereal, milk, yogurt, spoon, and napkin".

No more privacy for me, no more sipping my coffee while I catch up on some news, no peace. I suppose one day I'll fondly think about our crazy, hectic mornings together and actually miss them, or maybe not :) In the meantime, I just roll with the punches and take commands from this little girl who thinks she is my master.

This is my morning....yes, this is the bathroom

Lunch With The Girls

Today I had lunch with my good friends, Cecilia, Kathy, and Maria. I am lucky to have a great group of girls that I can share my life with. Every time we get together, it's like nothing has changed....we talk, laugh, talk, and laugh some more. I love these girls, and I know we will be friends for many more years to come...

PuzzleMania

So Emma has taken a liking to puzzles. My grandma has picked up the habit of buying Emma a puzzle or two every weekend. So come Monday mornings, she is fully equipped for an eagerly awaiting little girl. As soon as I open the door for Grandma, Emma asks with a grin, "Did you bring me any puzzles?". My grandma says it usually takes Emma 10 - 15 minutes to complete a new 30 piece puzzle. Some have taken her a little longer, but she won't quit until she's done. She's a persistent little thing.

Driving and Scooting

We have finally sprung forward, which means there's still plenty of daylight left after Frank and I come home from work. We love this time of year because after a long day at work, we get to come home and take the kids out for some fun and exercise.

On this day, we opted for the scooter and buggy. Emma is so fast on the scooter. I'm afraid she's going to have a big fall one day. Alex loves the buggy. He holds on to the steering wheel and smiles. I love these kids. If I could afford a housekeeper and a cook, I'd have many more.

Andrew Turns 5!

On March 30th, our beautiful nephew, Andrew, turned five. Since the moment he was born, this little boy has kept us on our toes. He has overcome many obstacles all while mainting such a wonderful spirit and smile. He has opened our eyes and hearts to a whole new world. We love him so much and we are very blessed to have him in our lives.

This year's party theme was farm land, complete with a petting zoo. The kids had an awesome time feeding the animals. The menu was simple but delicious, hot dogs and hamburgers. The goodies never stopped coming, churros, pretzels, cupcakes, candy, nachos, and cake of course. I don't know how Elizabeth finds the time and energy to plan these events. She always does an awesome job.

Birthday Boy

Andrew actually hit the pinata this year. He liked it so much he suddenly charged at the crowd with the stick still in his hand....it was hilarious. Silly boy! Emma didn't want to hit the pinata. She said, "I will hit the pinata on my birthday May 22nd.".

this guy had to make it onto the blog

Fun Time at Kidspace

A few weeks ago, when the weather was cooperating, we took the kids to Kidspace in Pasadena. It's a neat children's museum with tons of hands-on fun. Emma loved all of the water activities and the creepy bug/alien restaurant. We met a little girl named Sophie who took Emma under her wing and showed her a good time. She was really cute. Alex also had a good time. He happily watched Emma play.

She couldn't believe her ears when I said she could jump in...
