The Sparks

Thanks to Jason's free tickets from The Boys and Girls Club, we went to The Staples Center to watch The Sparks (WNBA) opening game of the season.

Overall, the game was pretty good. I don't remember the final score, but The Sparks won. I thought they played well, but Frank and Ernie say they still think they could take them on....MEN...

Emma and Alex loved the loud music. Here they were dancing and having a good time.

SaN DieGo

We decided we were long overdue for a weekend getaway so we went to San Diego in June. The icing on the cake was my mom and my sister and her family also came along. We stayed in Old Town, which was really interesting and pretty with all of the museums, Spanish style buildings, and cute shops. The weather was wonderful with warm days and cool nights.

Our first stop was The San Diego Zoo. We had a great time. The kids enjoyed all of the animals especially the polar bear exhibit. Too bad the real polar bear was sleeping.

The kids' zoo had an awesome playground. I did have a bad mommy moment when I didn't double-check the slide before Emma went down on her belly and burned herself...I'm still learning :(

Alex was smart, he made sure he only crawled in the shaded areas.

Elizabeth and Andrew

Is it too obvious we made these kids take this picture?

Ahhhh, thank God for tour buses. Elizabeth enjoying the ride with Alex

The Holy Field Cementary founded 1849

Our luck, we chose the worst Mexican restaurant...bad food and service, but we still had fun.
A night stroll in Old Town

They fit right in...

The verdict is still out on whether Andrew enjoyed the splash park
Shamuuuu

Someone appreciated Shamu's efforts while Emma kept asking how many more tricks

One of the first homes in Old Town

On our last day, we visited these beautifully restored Victorian homes built in the mid-1800s.

Emma took this great shot of Frank. We love you Dad!!!

We are already planning our next long weekend getaway....San Francisco...maybe.
