Emma is 3!?!?

When did this happen? Somewhere along the way, Emma became a three year old. This is all happening way too fast. Everyone has told us to enjoy our kids while they are young because they will grow up in a blink of an eye. Well I see this is true, scary, and sad. True because I already feel like the last three years went super fast. It's already becoming difficult for me to picture Emma as a baby even though I know I kissed that baby face at least a thousand times. Scary because we can't stop time and it is inevitable, my babies will grow up. Sad because I can't imagine the future without my little ones. Man, I foresee a serious case of the empty nest syndrome!

My baby Emma is already starting to look and act like a preschooler. No more chubby arms and legs. She still has a round face, but that too is starting to change. She has outsmarted me a couple of times, embarrassing but true. She insists on doing almost everything herself. She questions everyone and everything. She has quite a sense of humor.

I love my three year old girl. I beam with pride whenever I think about her. She is my goosey loosey.

Brushing her teeth before bedtime. Also note no diapers, potty-trained before 2 1/2 years old and took less than five days...yes, I'm bragging : )

she was looking for clues

Mother's Day

I know it seems a little late to blog about Mother's Day, but I just have to because we had such a wonderful day.

Becky and Emma got right down to work preparing the veggies for the grill

the veggies were delicious....so was the chicken, sausage, salmon, ribs, etc. We ate way too much!

We were so happy Beto and Janice were in town. This was Janice's first Mother's Day with us since they moved to Arizona, five years ago...long over due!

My sister Wendy and my mom also spent the day with us.

My guys kept eating and eating and eating...

I hope all Mother's Days will be as great as this one. I relaxed, others cooked and cleaned, and I was surrounded by the people I love, my family.

9 Months

You just saw Alex's first real crawl. We were lucky enough to capture it on video. As you can see, our boy is on the move.

Alex is now 19lbs. 13oz. and measures 28 in. He has four teeth on the top and two on the bottom. He is quite the foody. The other day he had a small bowl of Grandma Esther's albondigas and loved it. He has discovered that feeding himself is fun and handy. He is also clapping, pointing, dancing, and he gives high-fives most of the time. He just started to make consonant-vowel sounds like bababa, papapa, and mamama, which makes me very happy because I thought he was toooo quiet. Another thing I'm glad to report, he is back to sleeping through the night most nights : )

You can't see it in these pictures, but he has some awesome mullet action going on in the back

great shot of the teeth
